Heads up — common 2026 misconception

Most homeowners in a freehold house no longer qualify for any EV charger grant. The old Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) closed on 31 March 2022 and was not replaced for owner-occupiers in houses. Grants now exist only for renters, flat owner-occupiers, on-street-parking households, and landlords. Always check eligibility before assuming a £500 deduction.
